Citizen Power needs your support.
During the past 6 months, Citizen Power has
coordinated opposition to this plant. Now, Citizen's Power needs
your help as it gears up for the next phase - PSC hearings.
The PSC (Public Service Commission) is charged
with giving this project the thumbs up or the thumbs down. Citizen
Power needs to build a 'war chest' so we can line up experts to
provide testimony when the PSC has public hearings on this project.
We need independent experts to confirm that
the city / region can't have it both ways. The city's consultant
claims there is no problems with evaporating 350-650 gallons (per
minute) of our ground water but that very same firm has been warning
of serious regional water problems since 1994. We need to get out
own expert witnesses to make the case for preserving our air, water,
and community.
Beside the major anticipated expenses associated
with hiring independent experts to plead our case before the PSC,
the day to day expense have been adding up. Fliers, mailings, open
records charges, attorney consultations, general office expenses,
'no power plant' signs... These all add up and your help is needed.
PLEASE, send your generous
contribution to Citizen Power:

If you are uncomfortable sending a contribution
to a PO Box, any of the folks listed on the About Us page will get
your contribution to our treasury.
Obviously, all contribution are appreciated.
I personally asked myself what a new well would cost me. Then I
figured that if when all was said and done, I spent a tenth of that
protecting my current well it would be money 'well' spent.
IF you can afford a $200-$500 contribution -
it would be greatly appreciated. Monthly contributions also are
a great help - a dozen people sending $25/month goes a long way
towards phone, Internet, postage, open records costs, supplies etc.
I personally try to contribute about $50/month (more or less, usually
more) to protect our air and water but some would say I'm more committed
to the cause than the average person. (Come to think of it, I suspect there
are some elected officials who'd like to see me committed....)
Seriously, thanks to everyone for the help you
provide.
In addition to money, we need volunteers to
assist with the delivery of fliers and other tasks associated with
keeping the public informed.
These pages are always under construction, visit us often to
check for updates.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
