Plain English Disclaimers, Privacy Policy,
Ownership and Other Important Stuff

Privacy Policy: One of the reasons Citizen Power, Inc. is a non membership organization is to help protect your privacy. Citizen Power, Inc. has no intention of selling the names of people who correspond, contribute, or otherwise associate with it to anyone. Period.

Privacy Reality when corresponding with government: Because these power plant issues are regulated by government, it is likely that you will correspond with government officials to express your concern and objections. Wisconsin's Open Records law provides (with a few exceptions) that the records of government business are public. Even thought Citizen Power, Inc. will not sell your name, I recommend keeping Wisconsin's Open Records law in mind whenever writing public officials. Correspondence to/from government officials (including E-mail) is a public record and is subject to disclosure. So regardless how angry government officials may make you, I recommend trying to keep letters civil. (And that's not always easy!)

Disclaimer, ownership, and responsibility: www.citizenpowerinc.com was originally registered by your Webmaster (John Hebert). Originally I posted 'plain Jane' text pages. Once it was all spiffed up and looking a lot more professional, I offered to donate the site to Citizen Power, Inc. to serve as the official web site. On Wednesday, December 5, 2001, the board of Citizen Power, Inc. accepted that donation and made it Citizen Power, Inc's official web site. The transition and board mandated changes (such as this notice of change of ownership of the web site) is expected to take about three months. Just like the rest of the board, I'm an unpaid volunteer and these things take time.

Information posted on these pages is correct and accurate to the best our knowledge and belief. If you feel it is inaccurate and somehow misrepresents facts, circumstances, or events - please feel free to contact us at citizenpowerinc@yahoo.com.

Truth in Publishing (or Interests) Disclosure: The majority of the Board of Directors of Citizen Power, Inc. consists of property owners on private wells (living less than 1.5 miles from one of the proposed power plant locations) who therefore have personal interests in protecting area ground water supplies. As taxpayers living in impacted communities we are aware of warnings concerning the rapid decline of the regional aquifer and potential impacts for all of Waukesha County. We have a communal interest in preserving the shallow aquifer as source of drinking water.

Citizen Power, Inc. would like to thank the folks at United Citizens of New Berlin, Inc. for its assistance helping us to get organized. Originally it was United Citizens of New Berlin, Inc. who distributed the fliers alerting us to the first power plant proposal. Thanks again, keep up the good work!
