About the mailing address: it is an
address of convenience for our treasurer. We considered separate
addresses for each community, but the costs would be wasteful of
your contributions. If you are uncomfortable with sending to a PO
box, just give us a call and one of our staff will contact you.
Thanks for your support.

More information about Citizen Power, Inc.
In December, an insert in a Muskego wide mailing, provided citizens
information about the El Paso proposal and requested the community's financial
support. That mailing generated requests for information about who we are.
Here is the reply from Citizen Power, Inc. President Kurt Barikmo:
12/21/01
I am writing in response to your note received that is requesting more
information about Citizen Power, Inc. Our group is an assembly of citizens
much like yourself, people that take time to learn and discover key issues
taking place in their lives and communities. We are in fact a “non-stock
corporation” that was organized in opposition to the proposed power plants
being planned for our area. We have no paid staff, officers or board members.
We are represented by a very well educated, concerned and capable attorney,
Dennis Grzezinski. Mr. Grzezinski specializes in environmental law.
Having just renewed our “non-stock” filing with the State of Wisconsin, here
is a list of our officers and board members.

This group (listed above) is diverse in many respects. Nursing, farming,
teaching, hazardous material emergency response, business ownership and public
health are just a few fields of education/training represented above. There
is also many additional very technical volunteers involved with Citizen Power
at different levels.
The donations that we have received to this point have largely been used to
finance our various mailings, educational meetings, research costs (copies)
and legal expenses. We hope to continue using the “communicator” to circulate
more information in the future. But, as you can imagine, that costs money.
This most recent mailing was a calculated effort that will, in the end, pay
for itself and help to inform the community of our findings. Some more
internal efforts to obtain information are under way. That type of discovery
is being done in preparation for our legal arguments before the DNR and PSC,
if the power plant proposals progress to that point.
Citizen power meets quite often to discuss future actions and strategies for
our battle over the proposed plants. We limit ourselves to documented facts
that are used to protect health, safety, water, air and property values.
I hope this is the type of information you were looking for. If I can help
any further, I will try. Please consider supporting our effort today. Your
donation will certainly be appreciated. Thank you for your concern in this
very important effort.
Sincerely,
Kurt Barikmo
